Tank Replacement & Treatment Upgrade Project Completion

Members and Neighbors,

After years of design, engineering, permitting, construction, and controls modifications we were finally able to begin operating our own water treatment plant this month!

Our new 178,000-gallon primary water storage tank was completed and put in service in October 2022. The controls contractor performing the treatment upgrades and modification to our control system struggled to service our contract effectively causing continued delays and frustration. Without the control upgrades completed, we have been unable to utilize our treatment plant to process water from Laurel Creek as our primary water source.

The controls contractor finally completed their work last summer and over the last several months we have been working to ensure all our water treatment components (controls, pumps, chemical feed devices, automated chemical testing systems, alarms and compliance documentation) were refreshed and working properly.

Then as requested by the State Water Resources Control Board, we performed a final disinfection of the entire water treatment system. Including the Raw water storage tank, Stage-1 sand filters, Stage-2 and Stage-3 bag filters, and contact piping.

We submitted documentation of the completed disinfection process and monthly reports indicating the system has been operating in compliance with all the State standards. Including a request to begin using our upgraded system to distribute water to our members.

On February 5, 2026, the State Water Resources Control Board gave approval to begin operating our system to process water from Laurel Creek.

We are now able to once again use our water rights to Laurel Creek as our primary water source (as originally designed) and reduce the demand for purchased water from San Jose Wate Company.

We look forward to seeing the cost savings associated with using our own water.  The savings will help us fund the much-needed pipeline replacements throughout the Villa.

If you have any questions or would like to see the filter plant, please feel free to reach out.

We would be happy to share this wonderful asset we own.

Sincerely,

Mike Miller
